Uber Driver Shot Nearby Amazon Facility In Stratford, Police Say

A Fairfield County man who is subcontracted for Amazon has been charged with allegedly shooting an Uber driver.

The incident took in Stratford around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 in the 400 block of Long Beach Boulevard, said Capt. Frank Eannotti of the Stratford Police.

According to police, the Uber driver drove Anthony Vann, age 26, of Bridgeport, to the Amazon facility where there was some type of confrontation and Vann shot the driver.

The victim, who has not been identified, was shot several times and was transported to an area hospital. He is said to be in stable condition.

Vann, who remained at the scene, was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder and is being held on a $1 million bond, Eannotti said. 

When arrested, Vann had three weapons in his possession, Eannotti said.
